Kennewick Engineering Firm Announces New Spin-off Company

Kennewick, WA – Vista Engineering Technologies, L.L.C., (Vista Engineering) has announced the formation of Vista Leak Detection, Inc (VistaLD). VistaLD offers products and services for detecting small leaks in bulk underground pipelines and large storage tanks containing petroleum fuels and other hazardous substances. VistaLD’s corporate headquarters are in Kennewick, WA with offices in Edison NJ, Tipp City, OH, and San Jose, CA.

VistaLD is a partnership between Vista Engineering Technologies, a Kennewick engineering and technology development company, and Vista Research, Inc., a California company located in San Jose’s Silicon Valley. VistaLD products have been installed and/or used in testing services at facilities throughout North America and Asia. The new company’s main product is the HT-100, an automated leak detection system for fuel distribution pipelines such as those found at commercial and military airports and airfields. More than 30 major airports and over 25 U.S. military facilities have installed the HT-100 or used it as part of a testing service. VistaLD also has the capability of locating a leak by using its acoustic leak-location system. The leak detection equipment and services have previously been marketed by Vista Research, Inc.

Mr. William W. Pickett will assume the position of Vice President of Operations, at VistaLD and will oversee all engineering, manufacturing, installation, and testing services for the new company. Mr. Pickett will be supported in the Kennewick office by Ms. Willie Dickerson, a Senior Electrical Engineer, and Ms. Cody Freeman, as the Office Manager and Contracts Administrator. Phil Ohl, Vice President of Vista Engineering, said, “We are very pleased to base this new company in the Tri-Cities. VistaLD expects to generate new engineering and technical jobs and will subcontract manufacturing work for the community as the company grows.”
